MINNESOTA U16 STATE CHAMPIONS
January 4, 2012 - Minneapolis Hockey Association, Inc. (aka, Minneapolis Hockey) announced today "Jacks Pledge: Playing Hockey The Right Way." Endorsed by the Jablonski family, and Jack himself, Jacks Pledge is a player - and coach - driven program designed to emphasize playing hockey the right way by players and coaches pledging to minimize violence and enhance safety in hockey.
By taking Jack's Pledge, players and coaches commit to knowing the rules of hockey and playing by a strict interpretation of the rules. Players pledge to do their best to avoid penalties and situations that lead to dangerous play and unsafe situations. Coaches commit to teaching the rules of hockey, promoting strategies that minimize risk to ALL players and emphasizing clean play and a safe environment. By taking Jack's Pledge, coaches commit to emphasize clean play through assessing additional penalty time (bench time) for those individual players who make dangerous and unsafe infractions to the rules of hockey that are listed in the pledge itself. All Minneapolis Storm teams will be taking Jack's Pledge and encourages all associations in Minnesota Hockey to do the same. Minneapolis Hockey will donate "Jack Jablonski #13 In Our Hearts" helmet stickers to all teams or associations who show their support for playing hockey the right way through Jack's Pledge.
