CYHA student coaches need to register with CYHA as a student coach in order to be placed on a roster.  Please make sure you receive the confirmation email – ensuring your registration was completed.

Before you proceed:  If you will be 18 years old before February next year – you are NOT eligible to register as a student coach.  Refer to the document below if you are out of age range.  

Per D10 policy, there is a maximum of 2 student coaches per team. 

Please be sure to get approval from the receiving team prior to registering.  It is also the players responsibility to notify the coach before attending practices and to ensure they are cleared to skate with the team.   

If you do all of the tasks on this page and skip step #3 below - none of your information will get to the Registrar to be rostered!!!  It would be the equivalent of doing your homework and not ever turning it in.

1. If you are already on a CYHA youth team, then you can reuse that same USA Hockey membership ID  for your student coach registration.  If not, you must get a player USA Hockey ID prior to proceeding (Link below). 

Those players who are not rostered on a current CYHA team may send in the receipt along with a reimbursement request to CYHA for reimbursement.   Link to reimbursement request

Once you have your USA Hockey ID, click the registration link here.  Note:  the registration must be done with an email address login specific to the student coach (not a parents profile)

All student coaches are required to complete the student coach form.  It must be signed by the receiving team head coach, and also by the team where you are a player.  If you are not currently playing hockey, the receiving coach can sign both spots. 

This form is due within a week of being assigned to a team so please print the form below and obtain the signatures.  Once you have the fully signed form, email the completed form to the registrar:

1. For the 2022-23 season:  All Student Coaches with a birth year of 2005 must complete a SafeSport course or renewal to be rostered.  This is an annual requirement.  To get to the SafeSport course, please follow these instructions:
   1. Goto the USA Hockey SafeSport page (Link below)
   2. Login to the site with your USA Hockey ID credentials
   3. Click the red “Click here for U.S. Center for SafeSport Training” box at the top of the page
   4. Complete the modules or the refresher.
   5. Note:  The SafeSport course will clear within 24 hours of completion
