New this year, USA Hockey is requiring that all players that have a 2005 birth year take the SafeSport course before I can add you to a roster.  Here is the link to access the course:

The Junior Gold Program at CYHA  may consist of teams at the A, B, and JG16 levels. The final levels will be determined after tryouts.  Tryouts are typically held in mid-November.

We will do our best to field teams at all 3 levels (U16, Jr. Gold A, Jr. Gold B).  If we do not have the numbers  to support teams at all 3 levels, we will form appropriate teams based on the tryouts and eligibility of players. 

The quantity and levels of JG teams will not be fully determined until the player quantity and respective talent/skill level is established and assessed at tryouts.

The assumption is that the JG Coordinater will be the primary on-site point person for managing evaluators and evaluation data throughout JG tryouts. Other association-level resources (e.g. President,  VP-Administration, Chair- Coaching Committee, Metro League reps, etc.) will participate as required. The JG Level Coordinator and components of the JG coaching group (designated/approved head and assistant coaches) will be utilized as necessary/appropriate for the tryout process (all subject to necessary restrictions if JG parent). The JG Level Coordinator (primarily) will work closely with the Tryout Coordinater (secondarily) to determine  ownership of various tryout logistics (e.g. ice schedules, resources, communication, sign-in, etc.).

Season start - December, 2023
Season end - February, 2024
Playdowns - February 27 - March 3, 2024
State Tourney - March 15-17, 2024

All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the CYHA President.

• Requests received prior to the first tryout session will receive a full refund, less a $50 cancellation fee. The tryout fee will be refunded, if applicable.
• Requests received after tryouts have begun, and prior to team selection, will receive a 50% refund.
• Requests received after team selection and prior to December 15th, will receive a 25% refund.
• No refunds will be given after December 15th.

In the event of a season ending injury, a refund may be made at the discretion of the CYHA Executive Board. The amount refunded, if any, will be based on several factors such as the date of injury and the costs incurred by the Association on behalf of the player. This amount will be prorated depending on the percentage of the season played by the injured player.

Any player officially being selected for and choosing to participate on the Centennial High School Varsity or Junior Varsity teams, will receive a refund at the discretion of the Executive Board. The refund will be based on several factors including the costs incurred by the Association on behalf of the player.

Refunds will NOT be given to players leaving the Association to play for any other school or hockey program.
