Centennial Youth Hockey Association!

Beginning January, 2026, CYHA/CSLP are partnering with MN Hockey Fights Cancer for the second year in a row.

Heading in to our second season with this campaign, we'd like to again highlight the incredible impact each of you made last season by raising over $35,000 in support of Minnesota Hockey Fights Cancer.

We, together, were awarded the John Gegen Cup, awarded by MN-HFC,  which goes to the top fundraising association for the season!

This year, we're going to make an even bigger impact!

Each travelling team will be hosting a dedicated home game at Centennial Sports Arena to raise awareness for this cause and raise funds to support the fight against cancer. Both high-school programs are also dedicating a game this season, so the visibility will be even greater!

How can you help?

• Dedicated Games
  • Each traveling team will dedicate one home game at Centennial Sports Arena to HFC between 1/3-2/6/26. These games are scheduled and will be posted soon.
  • Invite friends & family to your game! Team managers should also engage the opposing team. The bigger the crowd, the more powerful impact.
  • Players will have game day helmet stickers & purple stick tape, in addition to “I Fight For” signs to honor those impacted by cancer.
• Team Fundraising
  • Each team will have a team specific fundraising page. All team pages can be found here- Team Pages.
  • Please share the link to your team page on social media. Also, many companies offer charitable matches which may reset at the end of the year. Donations can be submitted in 2025 and/or 2026. All donations on the team page will receive an emailed receipt.
  • If your team is not listed, remind your team manager to register w/ MN HFC asap.
  • Teams are also encouraged to be creative with team fund raising activities: non-cash raffles, grocery bagging, etc.
  • The top fundraising team will win up to $2,500 to off-set tournament registration costs!

  • Puck Wall- We will again sell customizable paper pucks to build a “puck wall” inside Centennial arena to create a visual impact that will build throughout the campaign.  

Unfortunately,  cancer affects many of us in our community, and we are honored to come together as a united hockey family to make a positive impact inside the rink, to benefit those fighting outside of it.

The Centennial Boys High School team is proud to again sponsor its Gary Tolkinen CYHA Coach of the Year award.

There are many devoted and talented individuals who commit their time, effort, and skills to the players in our association -- and the Centennial Boys High School program plans to recognize one of these individuals annually for his or her contributions.

This award will be presented to a CYHA/CSLP coach (girls or boys, head or assistant) for his or her coaching activities, sportsmanship, player development, personal coaching development, and dedication to CYHA.

All nominations will be reviewed by the Centennial Boys High School Staff, a winner will be selected, and that winner will be invited to the Centennial Boys High School Banquet in late-March to be recognized.

In order to nominate a coach: a player, parent, manager, or person affiliated with CYHA, should submit a written statement discussing why, based on the attributes described above and personal observations, this individual should be considered for CYHA Coach of the Year.

A written nomination may take any form -- it is the substance of the statement that matters, not the format.

Centennial Youth Hockey Association (CYHA) provides the youth of our community with organized hockey. We provide programs for players age 4 through high school. You are eligible to play for CYHA if you reside in or open Enrolled within ISD 12.

CYHA provides a program in which every player can develop hockey skills, be challenged, have fun and participate at a level where these objectives can be achieved.

CYHA season begins in late September and ends in March. CYHA accepts registration in late summer from boys and girls between the ages of 4 through Sr. High (players not playing on the H.S. teams).
